We purchased sod at Home Depot last spring and although have had good results since then, now we see browning. Would you recommend turf builder or maybe grass seed to help restore our sod.

Browning can be caused by many factors such as poor rooting, grading changes, varying soil moisture or uneven soil preparation, over or underfertilizing, or a pest or disease problem, or even problems such as dog urine. Without knowing the cause of the browning it is difficult to make a recommendation. If the sod is truly dead you will need to reseed or resod those areas. If the sod is alive but off color, then there may be steps you can take to restore it. I would suggest you work with your local county extension to determine the cause(s) of the off color and based on knowing that, work from there. In the meantime, here is some turf care and maintenance information you may find helpful. You may need to cut and paste the complete url into your browser ot make it work correctly.
