Crepe myrtles are available in a wide variety of mature sizes, some mature to the size of a large shrub and others a small tree. The spacing will depend on the width of your walk and the space available to each side of the walk for planting and for the crepe myrtle to mature into. You will also need to prune and train them over time so the branching starts high enough to walk beneath on the walkway side. Your local professional nursery staff should be able to show you a selection that will fit the space you have. Enjoy your crepe myrtles!
