| WE PURCHASED 40 (5 GAL) KLONDIKE AZALEAS. THE CARD SAID ORANGE AND ALSO THE SALES PERSON SAID THAT THEY WOULD HAVE BEAUTIFUL ORANGE FLOWERS. THE AZALEAS ARE BLOOMING AND ARE VERY YELLOW. COULD THERE BE SOMETHING WRONG WITH SOIL OR IS THERE ANOTHER REASON? WE DID A LOT OF SEARCHING FOR ORANGE AZALEAS AND THAT IS WHAT WE REALLY WANTED. PLEASE RESPOND IF THERE IS ANYTHING THAT I CAN DO. | I think what you are seeing is probably their normal color; the buds are orange and the blooms are a deep yellow sometimes described as "golden tangerine". The new foliage should be bronzy adding to the overall "orange" effect. Coloring in flowers and naming are always somewhat subjective, so it is usually a good idea to see the plant in bloom in person before making a selection. I am sorry you are disappointed by the color. |
