| We overseeded our yard last fall after a very dry summer. (most of the existing fescue had died.) Now the grass is coming up but alot of it is in little pods that are not growing. What should we do? The soil is sandy and we do not have an irragation system. |
| There are many possible causes for poor germination or poor lawn grass growth. Lack of water, poor soil conditions, unsuitable grass variety, uncooperative weather, poor seeding technique or soil preparation, and so on can all contribute to failure. I would suggest you work with your local county extension to run some basic soil tests and analyze the growing conditions in your yard, select the most appropriate grass variety for your soil and weather conditions, and then develop an establishment and maintenance program specifically for your lawn.
