I purchased lonicera japonica halliana. It came with a stake down the center which is covered with vines. Do I remove the stake and stretch the vines after planting?

The stake is there to help hold the vines upright and to keep them from being damaged at the nursery. Once you've planted your honeysuckle you can remove the stake and spread the vines out on your own trellis (or other support). Don't stretch the vines, but gently guide them toward the support. They will grow to reach it and they will need a little help in twining at first but once they reach the support they should climb without problem. Best wishes with your new vine!
