What plant or shrub can I use in a bed next to the house that gets no sun. I tried Holly but after two years I lost it.

Most hollies actually prefers full to part sun so depending on which one you used, that is not so surprising. For really deep shade, you might try Aucuba or Sarcococca. Both of these are attractive broad leafed evergreens. The sarcococca is also fragrant when it blooms. I hope this helps.
