Alan,

Shade and blooms really limits your suggestions. Southern magnolia has blooms but tends to not spread into a shade tree and is very slow growing. Catalpa has blooms but is not the greatest choice long term as it tends to develop some dieback 30 or more years down the line. The Ombrella mimosa may be a good choice for you to consider. Mimosa's also tend to not be really long lived.

Thanks for the question. Please stop in again soon!
