The yellow leaves are probably a result of transplant shock since you've only recently planted your laurels. I'd give them another few weeks to become established before feeding them. If you feed now, while they're trying to adjust, you'll force top growth at the expense of their getting their roots established. Just be a little patient with your plants and wait until early summer to lightly feed them. Best wishes with your garden!
