Dear,

I have a ligustrum hedge with a very slow growth. I would like to use a fertilizer so the growth is faster. Would you please suggest a fertilizer to be used? If possible I would like to know about the N-P-K ratio.

Thank you for your time. Jose Sobrinho

You can use any general purpose garden fertilizer for your privet hedge. Look for a 10-10-10 or 20-20-20 fertilizer, either granular time-release (works slowly over a long period) or a liquid (such as Miracle-Gro which is faster acting). Apply in amounts and with the frequency recommended on the label. Pruning encourages new growth so if you lightly shear your privets they will produce more growth this season. Best wishes with your garden!
