Does putting used coffee grounds in the rose bush garden help the plants?

Coffee grounds can contain a small amount of nitrogen and also provide a small amount of organic matter. A handfull sprinkled around the plant would not do any harm and might help a little. If you have a compost pile, coffee grounds are a great addition to that.
