I have 2 questions. First what type of soil mix is best for iris? I have very this gray clay.
I remember sweet heart rose bushes from when I was little. They grew in the bright sun and needed very little care. Where do I find these beautiful light pink ones? Also what type of soil mix do I need to plant them?

Clay soil should be amended prior to planting irises and roses. I'd spread 4-5 inches of organic matter over the top of the whole bed and dig it in to a depth of 8 to 10 inches. This will loosen the soil and help it drain quickly. Plant your iris rhizomes in trenches so the tops are just beneath the soil surface. I'm afraid Monrovia does not carry the polyantha sweetheart roses but you may be able to find these plants in your favorite local nursery. Best wishes with your garden!
