The Q&A Archives: Drought resistant Desert trees

Question: I would like to plant a couple of drought resistant trees. Could you recommed a few and is the red maple one of them?

Answer: Red maple is not drought resistant and may not grow well in your hot summer area. You will have better success with Mesquite, Sweet Acacia, or Ironwood. Best wishes with your landscape!
