We need a fast-growing not too wide hedge that will reach 8-10 ft. to separate our mobile home from our neighbor's messy driveway (can't have invading roots). We have full sun, live near the beach with gusty winds sometimes, otherwise pretty mild climate. Of course we would like easy care and disease resistant. Flowers and fruit optional.

I think the best plant for the site is Thuja (Arborvitae). These evergreens are tall but remain narrow (2-3') and can be clipped or sheared to maintain the right width. They are virtually litter-free and easy to maintain.
