| I just planted a weeping larch. The topmost weeping branch is partially torn away from the main trunk. 1) Should I use duct tape to try to save it as it is still partially connected. 2) Since it was planted this Sunday, the top branches are browning a little. | Unfortunately, based on your description I am unable to tell you what to do. It sounds as though your tree has experienced some trauma. It is possible that the split near the top has also affected the trunk causing problems with the other branches near the top. Or, it might have been exposed to wind during the drive from the nursery and dried out. Or, the drying might be due to a root problem or poor planting technique, or improper watering. There are so many possible scenarios that I would strongly suggest you consult with your retailer immediately. They may appreciate photos of the overall tree, and closeups of the torn area. I'm sorry I can't be more specific long distance. |
