Most evergreens need direct sun all day long to stay healthy and dense, so I am not certain your planting spot is sunny enough. Most evergreen trees are also very large at maturity, so you may want to look at dwarf conifers instead of trees. The dwarf Alberta spruce is slow growing and would eventually reach that size, however it only grows a few inches a year. (This growth rate is typical of the dwarf conifers.) I would suggest you work with your local professional nursery staff to see if they have any suggestions for plants that would thrive in the spot where you are planting, and then pick the one you like best from those. Good luck with your new Christmas tree! |
