I have 2 Star Shower Virginia creepers planted at opposite ends of an exterior wall. In front of the wall are 3, 3'x3' shrubs. With the shrubs kept trimmed 1 foot away from the wall. Will I have issues as the creeper spreads out?

As long as you keep the shrubs trimmed and prune out any errant shoots from the Virginia Creeper, you shouldn't have any problems. Virginia Creeper will take over an entire yard if it isn't pruned occasionally during the growing season so as long as you are vigilant about trimming, everything should be just fine.
