I have grubs. How do you get rid of them? What is a grub? |
Grubs are the larvae of scarab beetles, including Japanese Beetles and June Beetles. In fact, many insects spend part of their lives as grubs in the ground. They generally do not cause problems in lawns or gardens unless there is a large population. In the garden, you can turn the soil and expose the grubs to sunlight. Birds love them and if they're not eaten, the sunshine will do them in. If you're finding them in your lawn, you may have to resort to applications of insecticides to get rid of them. Check the lawn care section of your favorite garden center and look for products with the term "white grubs" on the label. Best wishes with your landscape! |
