For fertilizer, what type should I use and how often? I read online some people use slow release, some fertilize often and some said fertilize in spring and in late fall, which is the best way? | You can plant 'Endless Summer' in a container. I'd use regular potting soil - it contains sand, peat, compost and vermiculite which will help moderate soil moisture. Since your plant will be in a container it should be fed more frequently than the same plant in the ground (containers require more frequent watering which will leach minerals out of the soil). I use a half-strength dilution of Miracle Gro, applied every 2-3 weeks during the growing season to keep my plants healthy and thriving. "ENDLESS SUMMER" Hydrangea Macrophylla is the first Hydrangea macrophylla that blooms on both old and new wood. It flowers virtually all season long and will produce magnificent pink to grape to blue blooms depending on the pH of your soil. Alkaline - pH 6-7 will produce pink blooms. Acidic soil - pH 5-5.8 will produce blue ones. For blue add aluminum sulfate to the soil. Enjoy your new hydrangea! |
