| I just bought a 'trumpet vine' and the place where I planned to put it at the front of the house, has a drain pipe . I am wondering if you can tell me how invasive these roots are. Do I need to cover the drain pipe with sheet metal to protect it? |
| Trumpet vine or Campsis radicans has an extensive and vigorous root system and tends to spread by the roots to colonize an area over time. This is a very large vine; it needs ample space to grow and it also needs a strong, sturdy support. |
