Hello, I planted my Clematis in a pot and was wondering if it can be brought indoors for the winter? Should I cut it back? Can I leave it in a pot outside through winter, will it survive? Thank you Chris |
Clematis won't be happy indoors during the winter months. You can leave it in the pot and bury the pot in the ground over the winter months (the roots will need the insulating protection) or you can plant the clematis in the ground. Mulch over the root area in the fall to help protect the roots during the winter months; prune off any winter killed stems the following spring. Enjoy your clematis! |
