how do i collect seeds from gerber daisies and save them to plant for the next season |
Kim, Let a bloom completely mature and start to dry. Pick it and put it in an envelope but leave the envelope open. When it is full dry the bloom can be rubbed between your hands or fingers to break it apart and release the tiny long seeds. Sprinkle the onto the surface of some seed starting mix and cover with 1/8 inch of the fine texurtured mix. Keep it moist (placing it in a clear plastic dry cleaner's bag helps). When seeds start to germinate remove immediately from the bag but continue to keep moist. |
