Of the varieties listed in the Monrovia catalog, Spring Glory is the largest growing. Your local nursery may have other large growing forsythias as well. Once established, forsythias are very fast growers, several feet per year. If the mature size is about six to eight feet across (and tall) as this one is, you could plant between five and eight feet apart for a hedge, depending on how dense you want it to be. Forsythia needs full sun to grow its best and does fine in average soil. You would need to check with your local nursery to see what varieties they have available. There is a zip code based dealer locator at the Monrovia web site to help with contact information.
