I live in Southern Louisiana. I am looking for a tall slender shrubs to use for landscaping down the side of my house. I have a run of about fifty feet by about three feet down the side of my house within which to plant there?fore I need something with a narrow growth pattern. My house is very high and therefore need something that will grow pretty tall. That side of the house gets a fair amount of shade in the A.M., and is fairly sunny with spotty shade in the P.M. What do you suggest?

Londa,

Those specifications don't leave many choices for south Louisiana. My suggestion is to try the tall upright yaupon called 'Will Fleming' (not a Monrovia plant). But if the shade is considerable you might not be happy with the plants performance. The other option would be to construct a trellis and plant an evergreen shade loving vine on it.
