Good ground cover to plant under Bradford Pears and Red Maples?

Jerry,

There are a number of choices depending on what your aesthetic preferences are. Some possibilities include Big Periwinkle (Vinca major), Periwinkle (Vinca minor), Liriope, Dead Nettle (Lamium maculatum), Variegated Broad-Leaved Sedge (Carex siderostrica), or for a taller groundcover perhaps some type of fern.
