I have several planter boxes, sitting on top of a 6' fence. Could you recommend varieties of bright and showy trailing plants that will take full sun?

Some of the hardiest plants include Nasturtiums, Alyssum, Creeping Charlie, wooly Thyme, some Petunias, Lantana, Morning Glory, Ipmoea (Cardinal Climber), and Scarlet Runner Beans. Any of these plants would produce seasonal color and produce vine-type growth. One of my favorites is a perennial called Kenilworth Ivy. It's a tender plant that dies back to the ground each year and then produces lots of vines and bright green leaves. Enjoy your summer flower color!
