The Q&A Archives: iris

Question: when can you plant iris bulbs-fall or spring?

Answer: You can plant them in the spring (do not expect blooms the same spring you plant), in midsummer after they have bloomed, or in the early fall. Do not plant them in late fall as they will not have enough time to become rooted before freezing weather, often the freeze/thaw cycles pop them up out of the soil.
