After shearing, is there something to spray onto the exposed branches & leaves to help the tree recover? |
The short answer is No. The longer answer is that plants have their own healing systems to recover after pruning and spraying sealants on the cuts inhibits that. It can also seal in bacteria and other problems. The best thing to do is take good care of the plant. Make sure that it isn't stressed for water. Don't fertilize, as that "forces" a plant to grow, which can be stressful after it's just lost all that photosynthesizing material. As a guideline, never take off more than one-third of a plant in a year. That helps it recover more quickly as well. Good luck with your shearing! |
