To us these as a means to grow a large hedge for privacy, how many feet per year on average under good conditions do these plants grow?

Is there a faster growing hedge plant for privacy, that is not too wide, or is this a good choice?

Leyland cypress will easily grow 3-4' in a year, even in poor soils. This plant would be my first choice; arborvitae would be a good alternative. Best wishes with your screening hedge.
