I just bought several thread-branch cypress. Their color and form is absolutely gorgeous. I was wondering is it possible for me to keep it trimmed to be around 4 X 4. I can't tell at this point if it has much of a woody trunk or is the majority of the shrub foliage? It says it is a slow grower. How much growth would I expect each year and how long till it reaches maturity? Thanks for your time.

Your new plant will have a mounding growth habit, putting on 3-6" of new growth per year. It will grow about 5' and can become a small tree over time but you can trim it annually to keep it at 4' high and wide. Best wishes with your landscape!
