| I live in Honduras, Central America and bought anemones, narcissus, and sparaxis bulbs in November, kept them in the fridge until December, and they flowered beautifully. Now I don't know what I should do with them. Should take them to the refrigerator again or just leave them in their pots, cut the leaves, etc...? |
| In hot climates one year of bloom is usually about all we can get from most of the bulbs you mentioned. Even if you dig them up and refrigerate them for several months, subsequent blooms are not nearly as good as the first bloom. I have found it best to buy new bulbs each year. The Sparaxis might come back from year to year if left in the ground. Your climate is warmer than Florida's, so this suggestion is a guess, but worth a try. Some bulbs that should do well in your area are the Amaryllis, Calla, Caladium, Oxalis and Daylillies. Not all of these are true bulbs, but are usually grouped together. |
