| You can cut them back very hard, as hard as needed to reestablish a bushy framework. Typically you might cut them back by two thirds to one-half. They should resprout from buds along the old stem. Some gardeners root the trimmings and use them in the garden as well. To keep your geraniums from becoming leggy, you can regularly pinch out the tips of the stems. This will force growth lower down on the stems and result in a dense and bushy plant. I pinch mine back every 2-3 weeks. Best wishes with your geraniums. |
