| For appearance's sake, I would carefully prune away the spent flowers. If you look closely at the stem where the flower ends and the stem begins, you should see two opposite buds - these will be leaf or flower buds for next spring's display. Be careful not to damage these buds and you cut away the spent flowers. Enjoy your lovely lilac! |
