My Forsynthia shrub is a MONSTER only after one season. I discovered that my gas line is two-feet left of this creature. Will trimming it down curb its root growth? Or should I move it away?

Please help me....

Trimming the branches will not limit the root growth, no. And your shrub will continue to grow larger for several years -- many varieties easily exceed eight feet tall and wide with a proportionately wide root system. It would be better to move it. Since we are almost into hot summer weather, it might be better to wait until early September to transplant it.
