Ihave planted 2 sago palms. I have an inground pool and hot-tub with a cement walk-way going around both of them. Next to where the hot tub and pool meet there is an opening on either side of the hot tub where the walkway is opened to plant things. I have planted a sago palm in each opening which has 3 borders (triangle shaped) consisting of the walkway, hot tub, and pool walls. My question is whether the palms will eventually fill in the space and stop growing or will they break through one of the 3 borders. I do not want to damage anything but really like the palms where they are at. I can send pictures if this will help clear up waht i am trying to explain.

Charles,

I did not notice in your description how large the area is for the roots. If I understand the arrangement correctly then I suspect there is little danger of the roots or plant base doing damage. The top would be getting much wider and encroaching on the walk, hot tub and pool area long before the roots reached out and grew to any size of concern.

Thanks for the question. Please stop in again soon!
