Unfortunately, part of your question did not come through, but I will try to answer what I can.

Summer lawn care consists of mowing frequently enough that you do not cut off more than one third of the grass height when you mow. Regular mowing is one of the most important things you can do care for your lawn.

If you think your lawn needs to be renovated, either by reseeding or sodding, the best time of year to do that is in early September.

Your local Rutgers county extension staff should be able to help you develop a lawn care and maintenance routine based on your local growing conditions and the specific type of lawn grass you have. If you need to redo your lawn, they will be able to help you with testing your soil and deciding which type of grass would be best, also.

In the meantime, here are some on-line publications from extension you may find helpful. You may need to cut and paste the complete url into your browser to make it work correctly.

I hope this helps.
