I bought two Poker plants, planted them in premium potting soil in a large pot. They each had a total of 3 flower spikes. One has now died and the other is not putting out any more spikes. They are planted with a ruellia which is quite vigorous and blooming. What's the problem?

Red Hot Poker is capable of repeat bloom, especially if you cut off the old flower stalk. It may take several weeks for the bloom cycle to repeat itself so you'll just need to be patient. As long as your plants are in full sunshine and getting adequate water, they should bloom several times over the summer season. Best wishes with your plants.
