Hello, I recently purchased a 3.6 gal specimen of Monrovia |
Phyllostachys bissetii - DAVID BISSET BAMBOO- grows in either full or part sun; it has excellent color (forest green) and is very hardy. If your plant is showing signs of distress in full sunshine, try providing morning sun and afternoon shade until it recovers. Then give it gradually more sunshine. Sometimes plants are grown in a nursery under protected conditions (so that they don't need as much attention to watering). When you take the plant home and give it more exposure to sunshine than it has previously experienced, it can react in an adverse way. By allowing it to gradually adjust to the growing conditions in your own yard, the plant will eventually look and act happy. Best wishes with your new bamboo! |
