My gardening retailer (Greenwood Acres Nursery & Supply in Roseville, CA 916-782-2273 ask for Linda) has had a tough time ordering for us a Little Ollie tree for our patio. The retailer said that it is a pruned ornate kind of little tree. They told us that they are very difficult to get from their wholesalers and they come up every so often. Internet has not helped either. Yet, they sell out fast when they get them we are told.
...
Can you help? If the big demand is there, why aren't wholesalers stocking more in my area?

Here at the Q & A forum we do our best to solve gardening problems but we don't have information on the stock nurseries carry or even the availability of popular plants. I think it boils down to supply and demand; there is a limited supply of any plant Monrovia grows when you consider the hundreds and hundreds of retailers it stocks nationwide. Most retailers limit their orders to what they think they can sell during the spring and summer months so they won't have stock to care for over the fall and winter months. If they under-order it sometimes results in a shortage early in the season, one that cannot be resolved because Monrovia has already shipped all the available stock to other retailers. I wish there were an easy solution to this problem! I'm sorry you can't find Little Ollie locally. I can only suggest you contact nurseries out of your immediate area. Best wishes with your search!
