The Q&A Archives: what plant or flower can go under a glass dome

Question: can you please tell me what flower or plant can go under a glass dome? I tried putting flowers and plants under the dome and they have died. This is for inside the house.

Answer: I'm afraid that no live plant can be successfully grown under a glass dome. Plants need fresh air in order to respirate and putting a dome over the top will keep the plant from this necessary air exchange. As a result, it will die. You can try putting silk flowers under the dome for a burst of color in your home.
