My research shows that some people are quite sensitive to the oils in juniper and prolonged contact can cause a dermatitis type rash. Now that you know you're particularly sensitive, be sure to wear gloves and long sleeve when pruning your junipers. Sometimes sensitivity to plants shows up out of the blue. I discovered the hard way that harvesting pole beans and summer squash makes the skin on my arms and the backs of my hands itch. It's annoying to have to put gloves on when working around these plants, but I'd rather do that than deal with a rash!

Best wishes with your garden!
