What are some low maintenance plants that do well in the high desert heat, and heavy clay soil? I have been doing trial and error tests on various plants I have read about, or see in the neighborhood, but the heavy clay soil may be the problem. Not sure what to do about the soil. Is there a way to keep in aired out so plants can breathe? I want a beautiful garden so badly, but nothing seems to work - and I do not want a yard full of cactus. |
It sounds as though you're serious about gardening so I've found a local website that you can visit: http://www.palmdalewater.org/Y... This site is sponsored by the Palmdale Water District. It's loaded with information about soil types there in the Antelope Valley, how to amend the soil, what plant choices you have, and all about watering your new plants. Enjoy the site - and your healthy new garden! |
