| Hello, I hope you can help. I have recently purchased a Laburnum Tree and planted it in my front garden. When I came to remove the plant from its pot the compost fell away from the root system. I don't think it had been potted very long. After a few days the leaves started to turn yellow. My local garden centre advised me to dig in some farm yard manure which I did. The yellowing has now increased. I don't seem to have much new growth spring out either. Can you please advise me. Best regards Mark |
| Your golden chain tree is quite a vigorous grower so I think you only need to allow it to recover from the transplanting and adjust to its new situation in your yard. Aside from being patient while it establishes its roots, about the only thing you can do is water your tree deeply once each week. A water well or basin beneath the tree is the most efficient way to water. Flood the basin, allow it to drain, then flood it a second time. Watering this way each week will concentrate the moisture over the root system and allow it to trickle down, wetting the entire root mass. I'm sure your tree will recover once it has a chance to establish itself. Just keep it watered and wait for new growth. Best wishes with your new tree! |
