we have a green leaved euryops and live in zone 5. we would like to plant it outside, is there a way to winterize this plant for the winter like using hay or rose cones or something along those lines. thanks for your help mike priller |
Unfortunately, there is no way to winterize this plant so it can survive an Illinois winter outside. It is just not very cold tolerant -- it is only winter hardy to zone 8 and is grown outdoors year round in places like Florida or southern California. If you keep it as a container plant you might be able to overwinter it in a cool bright location indoors, although it tends to deteriorate when kept as a houseplant for the winter. I'm sorry I can't be more encouraging. |
