Lamb's Ears tends to get woody with age but pinching back the plant at regular intervals will keep it shorter and encourage a mounding appearance. You might be interested in planting 'Silver Mound' (Artemisia schmidtiana). This plant naturally remains low to the ground and spreads. It has ferny foliage with the same color and texture as Lamb's Ears.
