The Q&A Archives: dwarf alberta spruce

Question: how can I tell if my tree need re-potting? Some of the tips are turning brown.

Answer: Your tree might need repotting if it has grown a lot since you got it and there are roots coming out the bottom of the container. However brown tips can also be related to a pest or disease problem, to underwatering, or to excess heat. I would suggest you consult with your local county extension to try to determine the cause of the browning tips you are seeing and then work from there. Good luck with your little spruce!
