| The answer really depends on how large your bougainvillea is when it's time to take it inside. If you have room for it without pruning, I'd recommend doing so. Bougainvilleas tend to lose some leaves when they are taken indoors so I'd wait a few weeks after taking it inside and then prune any stems that are bare.
