I bought a patio tree (James Walker) and I know it must come indoors during the winter. When I bring it indoors in Sept. do I cut it back drastically or leave it grow? |
The answer really depends on how large your bougainvillea is when it's time to take it inside. If you have room for it without pruning, I'd recommend doing so. Bougainvilleas tend to lose some leaves when they are taken indoors so I'd wait a few weeks after taking it inside and then prune any stems that are bare. This will encourage healthy new growth which will help your bougainvillea look healthy and attractive. Best wishes with your bougainvillea. |
