We have a huge live oak in our front lawn that faces west so we don't get much sun. Would you recommend some perennials and shrubs for this lawn area? We would like to stay away from ground cover and want to have the more

Robert,

There is usually very little light beneath a live oak. This makes for a short list of plants unless you can do some trimming to increase light intensity. I would try cast iron plant, Aztec grass (looks similar to liriope), caladiums, Aucuba (Gold Dust Plant), Fatsia, or possibly azaleas if you can get enough light.

Thanks for the question. Please stop in again soon!
