The variegation or patterning on the leaves of this plant changes in response to the amount of light the plant receives. It will be greener in a low light situation and show more of the paler pattern in a brighter situation. The longer daylength of summer is enough to cause a visible change even though the plant has not been moved. I think this is probably what you are seeing.
