We just purchased one of your trees, a grafted Mystery Gardenia. How much sun can it take. Your tag says it can take full sun to partial shade, but the people at Anderson's La Costa say it can only take morning sun. What is the real answer? I have other grafted Gardenias that can take full sun.

Thanks, Lee

In your mild growing region Mystery gardenia will grow in full sun. If you have a site that receives morning sun and afternoon shade, it will grow there as well. Just be sure the site you choose is not close to buildings, walls, sidewalks or driveways that might reflect heat. Best wishes with your new gardenia!
