I think you mean compost. Gardeners speak of compost frequently because if its value in improving garden soil. Compost it basically organic materials that have decomposed. Leaves, wood, paper, grass clippings, manure, and food scraps are all common materials used in making compost. They are allowed to rot under conditions where there is plenty of oxygen and moisture. In time they become a brown/black crumbly material which is rich in the nutrients from the original plant materials and ready to be used in the garden to build the soil for more productive gardens.
